Role Summary
This is a full-time, on-site position in Rockville, MD for an Assistant Project Manager. The role supports project managers throughout the full life cycle of construction projects, from early planning through completion. The position is responsible for helping coordinate schedules, moving materials forward on time, supporting inspections, managing logistics, and keeping project milestones on track. The Assistant Project Manager also works closely with clients and teams from different disciplines to make sure project objectives stay aligned and quality expectations are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist project managers with planning, scheduling, and overall project coordination.
- Track and expedite materials to help avoid delays in project execution.
- Support the creation and maintenance of project schedules and timelines.
- Help coordinate inspections and related quality assurance activities.
- Manage logistics associated with construction work and project delivery.
- Communicate with internal teams, clients, and other stakeholders to keep work aligned with project goals.
- Monitor progress and contribute to keeping deliverables on schedule.
- Work with cross-functional groups to support smooth project execution.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management is required.
- Strong understanding of project management practices, including planning, scheduling, submittals, and task coordination.
- Working knowledge of construction inspection processes and quality assurance approaches.
- Solid organizational and communication abilities for managing priorities and stakeholder communication.
- Comfort using project management software and related tools.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage several tasks and deadlines at once.
- Experience in construction or design-build environments is an advantage.
Compensation and Benefits
The role offers a salary range of $70,000 to $90,000 per year, along with 401(k) and health insurance.
