About the Role
Under Armour is looking for an Assistant Store Manager to help drive store performance and support a customer-first retail environment in the Greater St. John's Metropolitan Area. This role is centered on leading daily store execution, supporting team development, and helping the store achieve its commercial goals. Role Purpose
In this position, you will help steer the store from the floor level by supporting operations, guiding teammates, and contributing to a high-performing retail experience. The role is designed for someone who enjoys leadership, problem-solving, and making a direct impact on sales and team success.
Key Contributions
- Help execute the store business plan and support targets related to sales, profitability, and other performance measures.
- Participate in hiring, coaching, and retaining a strong retail team.
- Review daily sales patterns and use them to make quick, informed business decisions.
- Oversee payroll and scheduling adjustments to improve productivity.
- Guide merchandising activities so the sales floor stays organized, visually appealing, and aligned with brand standards.
- Maintain awareness of loss-prevention practices and support store audit readiness and results.
- Take ownership or rotate through key functions such as talent, visual merchandising, and operations to broaden business knowledge.
- Support omni-channel initiatives by promoting apps, social campaigns, and athlete contests.
- Communicate Under Armour’s core competencies and expected behaviors through a clear and motivating leadership approach.
- Encourage teammate engagement and growth by recognizing strong performance and rewarding results.
- Address performance concerns and help resolve teammate issues.
- Share priority concerns with the Store Manager promptly and work together on solutions.
- Support enforcement of company policies and procedures with the Store Manager.
- Handle additional duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
This role calls for a candidate who can meet the following minimum criteria:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- At least 1 year of retail experience.
- Fluency in the local language is required; basic English is an advantage.
- Must be available for full-time hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Comfort with technology, or a willingness to learn tools such as handheld and mobile devices.
- Strong communication ability.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift cartons up to 25 lbs./12 kgs during shifts, with or without accommodation.
- Understanding of employment laws and compliance requirements at federal, state, and local levels.
Benefits and Compensation
The compensation range for this role is $21.23 to $28.53 per hour.
