Role overview

This position is for a detail-focused HR Operations Associate who will work with the HR team in Mumbai. The role covers the full employee journey, including onboarding, active employee support, and separation activities, while acting as the primary contact for HR-related questions to help maintain a smooth and dependable employee experience.

CACTUS follows a remote-first model and promotes an accelerate-from-anywhere culture. Depending on business needs or team/company events, travel to the Mumbai office may be required. This opening is currently available only to external candidates and referrals.

Responsibilities

  • Handle pre-joining paperwork, coordinate HRMS onboarding, support induction planning, and work with cross-functional teams so new hires are fully prepared from day one.
  • Keep employee information accurate and current in the HRMS, manage digital personnel records, and ensure files remain ready for audit checks at all times.
  • Run leave and attendance administration, including policy application, attendance tracking, and resolution of mismatches or discrepancies.
  • Prepare and send HR letters and documents such as offer letters, appointment letters, confirmation letters, experience letters, and other employee communications.
  • Oversee exit and separation activities, including clearance procedures and coordination of full and final settlement.
  • Respond to employee questions related to policies, benefits, and other HR matters within the required service timelines.

Qualifications and prerequisites

  • A graduate from any discipline is required; additional postgraduate HR certification is preferred.
  • About 1 to 2 years of experience in HR operations or as an HR generalist.
  • Practical exposure to at least one HRMS platform.
  • Working knowledge of HR policies, process documentation, and SOPs.
  • Strong command of MS Excel and MS Word.
  • Very good written and spoken English communication.
  • Careful, detail-oriented approach with the ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
  • Well-organized, able to multitask, and comfortable working to deadlines.
