About Kargo

Kargo helps brands and consumers connect through high-impact advertising experiences that support business growth. With a team of 600+ people, the company works across agentic AI, CTV, eCommerce, social, and mobile to create premium ad experiences on leading platforms. Its approach blends creativity with analytical rigor to deliver solutions that aim to exceed industry standards and client needs. Kargo has been operating for more than 20 years and maintains offices in New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, Dallas, Sydney, Auckland, London, and Waterford, Ireland.

Who Kargo Looks For

The company values people who enjoy building what is next, whether they are technical problem-solvers, creative thinkers, strong communicators, collaborative teammates, data-minded analysts, or product builders. The ideal team member is energized by fast-moving work and contributing to innovative ideas.

Role Overview

The Associate, Media Strategy role is responsible for converting advertiser briefs and RFPs into persuasive, insight-led proposals that support the sales team in winning business. The position sits at the crossroads of strategy and creative execution, owning pitch materials, learning agendas, and sales collateral that strengthen Kargo’s positioning. The role is essential to helping the sales team present a differentiated story rather than relying on generic materials.

Work Arrangement

This is a hybrid position with an expectation to be onsite four days each week. The role is based in Chicago, IL.

What Success Looks Like in 6–12 Months

  • RFP responses are polished, aligned with the brand, delivered on schedule, and reach sales partners early enough for review with little revision needed before being shared externally.
  • The sales collateral library stays updated and in active use, with pitch decks, one-pagers, and product materials reflecting the latest Kargo offerings and being used without prompting.
  • Learning agendas are created for a designated group of top-tier clients, using research-backed measurement and testing plans that position Kargo as a strategic partner.
  • Product capabilities are translated into clear, accurate, and compelling sales narratives that front-line teams can confidently use with advertisers.
  • Outbound-ready materials such as trend reports, category insights, and creative hooks are produced proactively on a regular cadence to spark new conversations.

Responsibilities

  • Turn advertiser briefs and RFPs into strategic proposals that answer client goals and support revenue growth.
  • Develop pitch decks, one-pagers, product sheets, and other sales collateral that are visually strong and commercially effective.
  • Create learning agendas, research-backed measurement ideas, and testing plans for priority advertisers.
  • Translate product details and performance data into simple, persuasive narratives for sales teams and advertisers.
  • Use market insights and trend-based thinking to develop outbound materials that generate new sales opportunities.
  • Keep materials current, accurate, and consistent with Kargo’s brand and product direction.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of experience in media, advertising, marketing, or a similar field, including internship experience.
  • Strong PowerPoint and Google Slides skills, with the ability to independently create polished presentations.
  • Comfort using Excel and Google Sheets for analysis, reporting, and tracking performance.
  • Excellent writing skills and the ability to turn data into a story that aligns with advertiser objectives.
  • Working understanding of digital advertising, online ad fundamentals, and new media trends.
  • Familiarity with third-party research vendors and how to use research in strategic storytelling is a plus.
  • Experience supporting a sales or client-facing team in a fast-paced media or ad tech environment is preferred.
  • Ability to stay accurate and organized while juggling multiple deadlines.
  • Initiative to spot gaps, improve materials, and bring forward ideas without waiting to be asked.
  • Clear communication style that works for internal teams and senior advertiser audiences.

Perks and Recognition

  • The company has been recognized by AdAge, ThinkLA, Built In, Cynopsis, Martech Breakthrough, Digiday, and Adweek for workplace and industry achievements.
  • Additional public-facing channels include the company website and Instagram.
