Role overview

PwC Acceleration Center India is looking for an Associate in Payroll Accounting to support finance operations for a varied client base across different regions and regulatory environments. In this role, you will contribute to the preparation and review of financial data, help maintain accurate accounting records, and support compliance with applicable accounting requirements. The position is part of a collaborative global environment where learning, teamwork, and client impact are central.

You will be part of the Finance practice, where your work will contribute to financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and risk awareness. The role is suited to someone who enjoys structured problem-solving, research, and learning while supporting senior team members and delivering dependable output.

Responsibilities

  • Help prepare and review financial statements to aid business decisions.
  • Maintain financial records and ensure they align with accounting standards.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities that improve financial planning.
  • Analyze financial statements and summarize useful observations and recommendations.
  • Assist with account reconciliations and upkeep of the general ledger.
  • Work closely with colleagues to resolve reporting and accounting issues.
  • Apply accounting policies and procedures to keep records accurate and current.
  • Contribute to the preparation and sharing of financial reports with stakeholders.
  • Collect and examine data from multiple sources to identify trends and patterns.
  • Adapt to different client requirements while contributing effectively in a fast-paced team setting.

Requirements

  • Minimum qualification: High School Diploma or an equivalent credential.
  • Strong spoken and written English communication skills.
  • Preferred education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Accounting & Finance, Accounting & Technology, or Management Information Systems.
  • One or more relevant certifications preferred: CPA, CISA, CFE, or CIA.
  • Comfort with financial accounting and reporting standards.
  • Hands-on familiarity with general ledger accounting and record maintenance.
  • Experience or exposure to preparing and analyzing financial statements.
  • Understanding of budgeting and forecasting concepts.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management abilities.
