Job description

Overview

SP+, part of Metropolis, is an AI-driven company focused on real-world mobility. Its computer vision technology supports ticketless parking, allowing drivers to enter and exit without using tickets, kiosks, apps, or cards.

The company operates the largest parking network in the United States, with more than 23,000 employees supporting mobility at over 4,000 sites across North America and Europe.

Its mission is to keep reimagining parking and other everyday experiences so people spend less time on routine tasks and more time on what matters.

What You'll Do

You will help keep the parking facility running smoothly by making sure cars are properly directed and parked, the lot stays organized, and the environment remains clean and welcoming.

  • Guide arriving drivers to open parking spaces.
  • Monitor the number of vehicles on site throughout the shift when needed.
  • Issue written warnings to tenants and visitors who do not follow garage rules.
  • Walk or use motor carts to check transient and reserved parking areas, where applicable.
  • Help customers locate their vehicles when they cannot remember where they parked.
  • Arrive for every scheduled shift on time and in the required uniform.
  • Answer customer questions politely and route them to the Facility Manager when additional help is needed.
  • Manage traffic flow at entrances and exits as required.
  • Support parking equipment upkeep and handle other basic maintenance tasks assigned by the Facility Manager.
  • Report accidents, policy issues, safety concerns, and unusual incidents to the Facility Manager.
  • Notify the garage office about debris, water, oil spills, and similar hazards.
  • Fill in for valets when authorized and necessary.
  • Maintain solid knowledge of the garage layout as well as nearby major streets, landmarks, and highways.
  • Assist the Facility Manager with additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should be able to carry out the essential duties of the position effectively, with reasonable accommodations available for qualified individuals with disabilities.

Education and experience may include less than a high school education, or around one month of related experience or training, or an equivalent mix of both.

If driving a company vehicle or operating on company business is required, you must hold and maintain a valid state-issued driver’s license with a current address and an acceptable driving record.

Work schedule needs may vary by location, and some assignments may require second shift, third shift, and/or weekend availability.

You should be able to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, and write basic correspondence. You must also be able to communicate information clearly in one-on-one situations with customers and coworkers.

Basic math skills are needed, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing with two-digit numbers and with tens and hundreds, including calculations using U.S. currency.

A neat, clean appearance and full uniform are required at all times.

This role involves frequent standing and walking, along with handling cash and equipment. Occasional sitting and climbing or balancing may also be required. You should be able to lift or move up to 25 pounds occasionally.

Compensation and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.50 to $16.50 per hour.

Eligible employees may access a benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, flexible spending accounts, long-term and short-term disability insurance, life insurance, accident insurance, a 401(k) plan, and paid time off.

Equal Opportunity and Hiring Technology

The employer is an equal opportunity organization that hires, trains, and promotes without discrimination based on protected characteristics such as race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, age, national origin, citizenship status, marital status, sexual orientation, veteran status, gender identity, disability, or other legally protected status. Harassment and retaliation based on these factors are not tolerated.

Candidate-related information, including personal data, may be retained for as long as reasonably needed for use with the tool. If hired, this information may become part of the employee record.

Applicants for New York City roles who want an alternative selection process accommodation or have questions about data retention may contact [email protected].
