Role overview

We are looking for a Barista to join a café team in Coffee County, Tennessee. The role centers on preparing quality coffee and other drinks, delivering a warm guest experience, and keeping the café running smoothly throughout each shift.

Key duties

• Craft coffee, espresso-based beverages, teas, and other drinks in line with the café’s quality standards.
• Welcome guests, respond to their needs courteously, and help create a friendly atmosphere.
• Accurately take orders and handle transactions through the POS system.
• Keep the café, bar area, seating space, and equipment clean and well organized.
• Use and care for espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment properly.
• Replenish supplies such as ingredients, cups, milk, pastries, and other café items.
• Maintain strict food safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices at all times.
• Assist with opening and closing tasks as needed.
• Coordinate with coworkers to ensure efficient day-to-day operations.
• Answer customer queries and resolve issues in a professional manner.
• Check product quality and consistency throughout the shift.

Requirements

• Prior experience working as a barista or in a café is preferred.
• Practical knowledge of espresso preparation and milk steaming methods.
• Good communication and people skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and stay effective in a busy environment.
• A positive, cooperative, team-first approach.
• Availability for weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts.
• Basic numeracy and cash-handling ability.
• Strong focus on detail, cleanliness, and presentation.
