Overview of Role
The Barista is responsible for delivering high-quality coffee, beverages, and café offerings while creating a warm, engaging, and memorable guest experience. This role ensures consistency in beverage preparation, maintains café standards, and contributes to the overall efficiency of operations while embodying the spirit of genuine hospitality.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
General Duties
- Prepare and serve coffee, beverages, and light food items to the highest standards.
- Ensure all drinks are prepared consistently in accordance with recipes and presentation guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café and barista station.
- Ensure all opening and closing procedures are completed accurately.
- Undertake any other duties or tasks deemed reasonable by the Supervisor or Manager.
Operations & Efficiency
- Ensure smooth and efficient workflow during peak periods.
- Maintain speed of service without compromising quality.
- Process orders accurately through POS systems.
- Handle cash and electronic payments in accordance with company procedures.
- Replenish stock and maintain adequate inventory levels.
Guest Experience & Service Standards
- Deliver warm, friendly, and attentive service to all guests.
- Engage with guests, take orders accurately, and provide recommendations where appropriate.
- Create a welcoming and relaxed café environment.
- Handle guest queries and feedback professionally and efficiently.
- Build rapport with regular guests to enhance the overall experience.
Beverage & Product Quality
- Prepare espresso-based drinks, teas, and other beverages with consistency and precision.
- Maintain strong knowledge of coffee, brewing techniques, and menu offerings.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of coffee beans, milk, and other ingredients.
- Monitor product quality, freshness, and presentation at all times.
- Assist in maintaining equipment and reporting any issues.
Teamwork and Collaboration
- Work closely with team members to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen and service teams.
- Support colleagues during busy periods and across other areas when required.
- Foster a positive and cooperative working environment.
Compliance & Safety
- Adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Comply with health, safety, and fire regulations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace.
- Follow company policies and operational procedures at all times.

Qualifications
Minimum 1–2 years of experience in café or Food & Beverage operations. Basic knowledge of coffee preparation and beverage service. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Positive attitude and strong customer service mindset. Flexible and adaptable to operational needs.
