Job description

Role overview

An established law firm is hiring a Billing Coordinator to partner with attorneys and support the firm’s billing function. The role focuses on accurate invoicing, billing compliance, and coordination with management across day-to-day and month-end billing activities.

Key responsibilities

  • Make sure all invoices are prepared in line with the firm’s billing policies and guidelines.
  • Work alongside management on all parts of the billing workflow.
  • Handle a large volume of billing work, including reviewing pre-bills, applying retainer funds, processing write-offs, entering time, and updating proformas.
  • Manage electronic billing processes and client billing portals.
  • Address questions and requests from attorneys, clients, and internal team members.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in a legal environment.
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a similar discipline.
  • Hands-on experience with Elite or Aderant billing systems.
  • High level of accuracy and a strong sense of urgency.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time-management abilities.
  • Willingness to work overtime when needed to meet business needs.
