The Opportunity

As the inaugural Brand Designer at Canals, you will be instrumental in shaping the visual identity of our brand across all platforms and interactions. We have an established brand identity that requires expansion, refinement, and consistent application across our website, digital campaigns, trade show materials, event signage, and promotional merchandise. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the guardian of Canals' visual presence, collaborating closely with Marketing, Product, and Sales teams to ensure a high-quality and cohesive brand representation.

What You'll Do
  • Lead the evolution and expansion of the Canals brand identity, adapting it to the company's growth.
  • Create designs for diverse channels including websites, digital advertisements, email campaigns, social media, sales collateral, trade show exhibits, event signage, and branded merchandise.
  • Oversee and manage external creative partners and agencies.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive brand guidelines, templates, and asset libraries to ensure consistent brand application by the wider team.
  • Establish self-serve design systems and templates to enable non-designers to maintain brand consistency independently.
  • Translate product screenshots and user interface elements into compelling marketing visuals that tell a story.
  • Act as the primary brand consultant for the product design team.
  • Effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines within a dynamic marketing organization.
What We're Looking For
  • A minimum of 5 years of brand design experience, preferably within a B2B SaaS environment or for B2B SaaS clients at an agency.
  • A keen eye for creating effective product marketing visuals.
  • A portfolio showcasing versatility in both digital and physical design, as well as campaign and system-level work.
  • Demonstrated experience in owning and developing a visual identity, beyond mere execution.
  • Proven capability in art directing external agencies, photographers, and other creative collaborators.
  • Experience in creating brand guidelines, design systems, and accessible asset libraries.
  • Proficiency in Figma and the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Exceptional collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with marketers, product managers, and non-designers, and to translate feedback into high-quality work.
  • A self-driven and proactive approach, with a proven track record of completing tasks independently.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing timelines.
  • Prior experience in a startup or fast-paced setting is advantageous.
