About the role
Boardwalk is seeking a practical, hands-on maintenance professional to support the upkeep of resident homes and shared spaces in Victoria, British Columbia. The company manages more than 34,000 rental homes across Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, Saskatchewan, and Quebec, and aims to deliver a comfortable, quality living experience for residents.
This position is suited to someone who enjoys repair work, has a strong mechanical mindset, and can respond quickly to routine service needs as well as urgent issues. The role is based at Aspire in the View Royal area.

Responsibilities
- Respond to maintenance requests within 72 hours
- Handle after-hours emergency maintenance calls when needed
- Carry out maintenance and light touch-up work in vacant suites to meet quality standards
- Maintain common areas and building systems
- Work with the Customer Care Team to inspect turnover suites
- Complete preventive maintenance checks and document findings
- Confirm that contractors finish work to the required standard
- Support snow removal tasks
- Take on other duties and assist at other sites as required
Experience and qualifications
The ideal candidate brings at least 2 years of maintenance service experience. Renovation experience of 3 years is considered an advantage.
Strong English communication skills are needed, both spoken and written. Comfort with technology is helpful.
Applicants should be prepared to have all tools listed by the company before the probationary period ends; the tool list will be shared during the interview process.
This job can involve up to 8 hours of walking, standing, stair climbing, and lifting. Candidates must also be able to move loads of up to 90 kg using appropriate equipment.
Success in the role depends on getting repairs right the first time, delivering excellent customer service, managing time well, and working effectively both alone and as part of a team. A positive attitude, enthusiasm, and a confident, proactive approach are important.
