What you will do
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand strategic goals, operational pain points, and the information needed for decision-making.
- Collect, analyze, and document requirements tied to data, reporting, analytics, and performance measurement.
- Run workshops, discovery discussions, and stakeholder interviews to uncover business needs and improvement opportunities.
- Serve as the main point of contact between business users and technical delivery teams across the project lifecycle.
- Convert business needs into detailed functional and technical specifications for data engineering, analytics engineering, and business intelligence teams.
- Define consistent business metrics, KPIs, and reporting standards aligned with company objectives.
- Help design, build, test, and validate dashboards, reports, data models, and other analytical deliverables.
- Carry out data exploration and verification to make sure outputs match business expectations.
- Work with cross-functional teams to prioritize analytics work based on value and strategic impact.
- Share updates, risks, dependencies, and recommendations with stakeholders at different levels of the organization.
- Align business priorities with data initiatives so solutions are delivered successfully and adopted well.
- Support change management by encouraging data literacy and the use of data-driven insights.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in Data Analytics, Business Analysis, Analytics Consulting, Business Intelligence, or a similar area.
- Demonstrated experience gathering, documenting, and managing requirements for data and analytics projects.
- Strong ability to turn complex business challenges into clear technical needs.
- Working knowledge of SQL for exploration, validation, and analysis of data.
- Practical experience with BI and visualization tools such as Power BI.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience in Agile, Scrum, or similar cross-functional delivery environments.
- Preferred: exposure to public sector organizations, government data, or transparency initiatives.
- Preferred: familiarity with data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and cloud analytics platforms, especially Microsoft Azure.
- Preferred: experience producing BRDs, user stories, process maps, and functional specifications.
- Preferred: understanding of data governance, data quality, and master data management concepts.
- Preferred: experience with large datasets, enterprise reporting solutions, and data products.
