Job description
Role overview
This ongoing Business Analyst opportunity sits within the Information Technology Services (ITS) Branch and focuses on helping shape, design, and deliver technology-enabled solutions that improve the quality, accessibility, and efficiency of social services across the portfolio.
As part of the ITS team, you will help define ICT initiatives by gathering, analysing, and recording business needs, pain points, and opportunities. Using structured business analysis methods, you will assist in refining initiative scope and contribute to shaping proposals before they move into detailed design or delivery.
You will work in a multidisciplinary environment, partnering with service designers, subject matter experts, and technology teams to support human-centred solutions. You will also contribute to broader portfolio demand activities as directed by the manager, with a willingness to build capability by working alongside different team members to help deliver the portfolio’s priorities.
Success in this role will depend on strong analytical ability, clear communication, and confident stakeholder engagement, along with the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-moving setting. Your work will help ensure ICT solutions align with organisational goals and the needs of users.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the intake of new IT initiatives and serve as the first point of contact for business areas looking to raise emerging technology needs.
- Plan and support workshops and facilitated discussions with business stakeholders, domain specialists, and technology teams to collect requirements, confirm findings, and create a shared understanding.
- Present analysis outcomes in a clear and concise way so stakeholders have a consistent view of business needs.
