Role overview

A client in the real estate and finance sector is seeking a commercially minded Business Analyst for a 6-month contract. The position is based in Vancouver and follows a hybrid working model. The successful candidate will bring hands-on experience in finance or real estate initiatives, with a strong emphasis on process improvement, system rollout, and compliance. Collaboration will span teams in North America and APAC, so the role requires flexibility to work across multiple time zones.

Key responsibilities

  • Work with business and technical stakeholders to capture requirements for financial platforms and commission-driven systems.
  • Map, record, and explain workflows tied to deal tracking, invoicing, compliance, and commission computations.
  • Support the use and refinement of COTS applications that manage property and client data as well as commission information.
  • Contribute to SOC compliance activities and help prepare reports intended for shareholders.
  • Assist with data migration and system setup for finance and real estate applications.
  • Coordinate with teams in Sydney and other regions, adjusting work hours as needed for time zone coverage.
  • Recommend process and system enhancements that improve revenue tracking, invoicing accuracy, and compliance oversight.
  • Participate in testing and validation for new functionality and system changes.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a Business Analyst role, ideally within finance or real estate projects.
  • Solid commercial awareness, particularly in accounting and finance, along with knowledge of commission-based workflows and revenue tracking.
  • Experience using COTS platforms, preferably in finance, commission management, or real estate environments.
  • Exposure to data migration work and working knowledge of SQL for reporting or data extraction is an advantage.
  • Ability to prepare business requirements and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Willingness to work across time zones and collaborate with APAC-based teams.

Additional information

This is a 6-month contract opportunity in Vancouver, British Columbia. The role is hybrid rather than fully remote or fully onsite. Flexibility in working hours is expected because the team works with colleagues across North America, Sydney, and APAC. The focus of the assignment is business process support, system implementation, compliance, and platform optimization in the real estate and finance space.
