Overview
Empire Life is seeking a Business Analyst to join its Information Technology group. This role is based in the Greater Toronto Area and follows a hybrid work model, with the position located in Kingston or Toronto. The company is a medium-sized Canadian organization operating in a stable sector that is undergoing significant transformation.
The total target compensation for this permanent opportunity, including base salary and target bonus, is $95,920 to $144,970. This compensation range applies only to permanent roles. Fixed-term contract and casual positions are not eligible for annual bonus and would receive base pay only.

Key Responsibilities
- Work with business leaders to gather, clarify, and document business requirements accurately.
- Check that delivered solutions align with stakeholder expectations by using manual validation methods.
- Apply Empire Life’s internal Product Delivery Framework and established delivery practices.
- Analyze gaps in current or proposed solutions and advise stakeholders on practical options to meet business needs.
- Support and coach newer team members on the Product Delivery Framework.
- As needed, facilitate Scrum ceremonies and help drive the delivery of smaller initiatives.
Candidate Profile
- A post-secondary degree or diploma, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience, is required.
- At least 3 to 5+ years of experience in a Business Analyst role.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working on Scrum-based teams and writing user stories.
- Ability to manage priorities and handle several tasks or projects at once.
- Comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Adaptable and able to perform well in a fast-moving, changing environment.
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Clear and effective communicator, including at senior leadership levels.
- Willingness and ability to mentor, coach, and train junior colleagues.
- For roles open to candidates across Canada, English fluency is required for communication with customers, advisors, or employees nationwide, unless otherwise specified.
