Role Overview

Miipe is looking for a Business Analyst to join its team on a contract basis in Markham, Ontario. The role involves working closely with stakeholders and technical teams to shape requirements, improve processes, support solution delivery, and help ensure projects are implemented successfully.

Key Responsibilities

In this position, you will gather and document business needs, support solution design, and stay involved through development, testing, rollout, and ongoing process improvement.

  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand goals, pain points, and system requirements.
  • Run interviews, workshops, and discovery meetings to collect detailed requirements.
  • Convert business needs into deliverables such as user stories, use cases, process diagrams, and functional specifications.
  • Review current workflows and identify opportunities to improve them.
  • Work with IT teams, developers, and solution architects to assess and refine solution approaches.
  • Support the development and deployment of new systems, enhancements, and integrations.
  • Check requirements throughout the delivery lifecycle to confirm they continue to match business expectations.
  • Assist with data analysis, mapping, and validation for technology projects.
  • Help prepare test plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria.
  • Take part in UAT planning and execution.
  • Log and track defects, and work with technical teams to close them efficiently.
  • Coordinate with project managers on scope, timelines, and risk evaluation.
  • Keep stakeholders informed on progress, issues, and changes.
  • Support delivery quality and on-time completion of projects.
  • Identify technology-enabled process improvements and automation opportunities.
  • Contribute to digital transformation, software rollout, and system optimization efforts.
  • Ensure proposed solutions are practical, scalable, and aligned to long-term business needs.
  • Create process flows, SOPs, requirements documents, and training materials.
  • Provide support and training to business users during system go-lives and updates.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for future reference and compliance needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related area.
  • At least 5 years of experience working as a Business Analyst in the IT sector.
  • Strong knowledge of SDLC approaches, including Agile and Waterfall.
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Visio, Lucidchart, or similar.
  • Strong analytical thinking, critical reasoning, and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to write clear business and functional documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management capability.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Experience with enterprise platforms such as ERP, CRM, cloud-based applications, or custom software.
  • Basic SQL knowledge or experience in data analysis.
  • Exposure to integration work or API-based systems.
  • Understanding of ITIL or IT service management concepts.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
