Role overview
This position focuses on supporting investment decisions and overseeing portfolio performance across a varied set of businesses and assets. The role combines deal analysis, financial modelling, and ongoing business monitoring.
The chosen candidate will assess potential investments, build and update financial models, carry out commercial and financial analysis, and prepare investment papers and recommendations for the Executive Committee and Board. In addition, the role includes tracking the performance of existing portfolio companies and highlighting areas for improvement.
The work calls for someone who can evaluate complex business situations, create robust analytical models, work with senior leaders, and turn detailed analysis into practical recommendations.
Key responsibilities
- Create and maintain financial models used to evaluate investment opportunities and strategic initiatives.
- Perform commercial, operational, and financial due diligence on prospective transactions.
- Draft investment memoranda, board papers, and presentation materials for Executive Committee and Board discussions.
- Review financial, operational, and commercial performance across portfolio businesses.
- Design reporting frameworks, dashboards, and performance measures.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and wider business planning activities.
- Carry out market, industry, and competitor research.
- Contribute to strategic reviews, acquisitions, divestments, and capital allocation decisions.
- Track key metrics and identify opportunities to strengthen business performance.
- Collaborate closely with portfolio company leadership and senior stakeholders across the group.
- Support value-creation efforts and operational improvement initiatives when needed.

Requirements
- Proven ability in financial modelling, including the creation of integrated models.
- Prior experience reviewing investment opportunities, acquisitions, or strategic assignments.
- Capability to produce clear, concise, and well-organised papers for senior decision-makers.
- Strong commercial awareness and solid business analysis skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Comfort working independently while handling several priorities at once.
- Excellent attention to detail and a naturally inquisitive approach.
