Role Overview
Inizio Partners is hiring a Business Data Analyst for its Jersey City, NJ location. This is an onsite contract opportunity with an expectation to work from the office 3 to 4 days per week. The position is open for both C2C and full-time employment arrangements.
Job Summary
The selected analyst will support enterprise data initiatives in the Property & Casualty insurance space, focusing on large-scale data applications, analysis, and transformation. This role calls for practical experience with SQL, business analysis, and data mapping, along with solid knowledge of policy and claims data. The person in this role will work closely with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, and technical teams to improve data quality, consistency, and business value.
Responsibilities
- Carry out full-cycle data analysis for large data integration and reporting efforts, including profiling, verification, and transformation.
- Create source-to-target data mapping documentation from business requirements.
- Partner with business users and stakeholders to capture requirements and convert them into technical specifications.
- Coordinate with data engineers and developers to build and confirm consolidation, standardization, and transformation logic.
- Improve the speed and accuracy of complex SQL queries for high-volume datasets.
- Support data quality reviews and suggest cleansing or enrichment actions where needed.
- Apply knowledge of Property & Casualty insurance, including policy administration and claims processes, to align data with business workflows.
- Serve as a bridge between business SMEs, data modelers, and technical teams to support successful delivery and adoption.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of practical experience in data analysis, data mapping, and data transformation in enterprise settings.
- Strong command of SQL, including analytical functions, query tuning, and performance improvement.
- Demonstrated experience preparing source-to-target mapping documents and working with ETL and data flow concepts.
- Experience with data consolidation, standardization, and transformation across multiple data sources.
- Deep familiarity with the Property & Casualty insurance domain.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with technical teams, business stakeholders, and SMEs.
- Strong documentation skills with the ability to produce clear technical and business materials.
Additional Information
This role is based in Jersey City, NJ and requires on-site presence for 3 to 4 days each week. The engagement type can be either C2C or FTE.
