Role overview

This opportunity is suited to an experienced sales or account management professional with strong phone-based communication skills, a genuine interest in technology, and preferably exposure to civil, heavy transport, or large fleet customers. The position is a key part of EROAD’s New Zealand operations and combines account management with new business and growth responsibilities.

The role supports EROAD’s broader expansion by helping customers achieve business outcomes through the company’s technology. It includes managing existing small-to-mid-sector accounts, driving upsell opportunities, and maintaining customer relationships through a structured call plan and occasional face-to-face visits.

Key responsibilities

  • Reach out to SMB customers using 2G/3G units and encourage them to move to 4G solutions.
  • Share product information and prepare quotes to support customer upgrades.
  • Develop strong working relationships across customer businesses to influence behaviour and encourage adoption of change.
  • Keep a consistent customer call schedule to share updates on new products.
  • Identify and convert opportunities to sell additional products and services.
  • Increase average revenue per user through plan upgrades.
  • Work toward new unit growth and retention goals.
  • Travel for in-person customer meetings when needed.

Experience and skills

The ideal candidate will bring at least 3 years of experience and may come from a technical sales or account management background. Experience handling customer accounts by phone, especially in telecommunications, would be a strong advantage.

You should also have excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal ability, solid organisation, good time management, and the confidence to work both independently and as part of a team. Comfort using CRM systems and related technology is also important.
