Role overview
This position is for a business development professional focused on renewable digital solutions in Germany and Austria. The role supports the growth of BaxEnergy offerings within Yokogawa, especially across asset performance management (APM), power plant controllers (PPC), SCADA-related digital platforms, and cybersecurity services for critical renewable infrastructure. The successful candidate will combine commercial drive with technical understanding to help customers convert operational data into better performance.
Key focus of the role
You will act as Yokogawa Germany’s commercial lead for renewable digital solutions, helping open new markets and expand existing opportunities. The job covers the full sales journey, from identifying prospects and assessing fit through to closing contracts. You will work alongside presales, product, R&D, and delivery teams to shape proposals and present strong value propositions for solar, wind, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and grid-connected assets.
Business development and sales strategy
- Create and carry out a sales plan for Germany and Austria to grow BaxEnergy’s presence in the renewable sector.
- Spot and assess new opportunities among independent power producers, utilities, EPC companies, developers, and asset owners.
- Manage the complete sales process, starting with outreach and ending with signed contracts.
- Position Yokogawa and BaxEnergy solutions, including APM, PPC, SCADA-related software platforms, and cybersecurity for renewable assets.
Stakeholder engagement and proposals
- Develop relationships with both business and technical decision-makers across the renewable value chain.
- Work with presales, product, R&D, and delivery teams to build clear and differentiated proposals.
- Represent the company at trade fairs, customer meetings, and industry events.
Pipeline management
- Keep CRM records accurate and up to date.
- Maintain a dependable sales pipeline with good visibility of priorities, progress, and growth opportunities.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate brings a strong background in sales and business development, with at least 5 years of relevant experience and at least 3 years in renewable energy or closely related digital solutions. A good understanding of renewable market structures and the technologies behind them is essential. Experience with SaaS, SCADA, PPC, EMS, industrial software, or cybersecurity will be considered a strong advantage.
Language and travel requirements
Fluency in both German and English is required. Knowledge of another European language is beneficial. The role also requires willingness to travel across Germany, Austria, and other parts of Europe as needed.
