The Support Office is central to this success, bringing together new ideas and practical delivery. The business is now hiring a commercially minded Buyer to join the Buying team and influence the product ranges offered to customers.
Role Overview
In this position, you will help select and source product ranges that contribute to commercial performance across the store network. You will work closely with suppliers, planners, and store teams to ensure each range is commercially sound, operationally effective, and responsive to customer demand. The role is practical and varied, combining product knowledge, supplier negotiation, and strategic thinking in a busy retail setting.
Key Duties
- Create and deliver product strategies that keep the customer at the centre while supporting wider business goals.
- Develop supplier partnerships, negotiate pricing, and finalise trading terms.
- Study sales performance and market movement to shape buying choices.
- Work with merchandising and logistics colleagues to plan stock movement and promotional activity.
- Track product results on an ongoing basis and refine the category range where needed.
- Identify fresh, value-focused product lines that match changing customer expectations.
- Represent and protect the Choice Stores brand in product selection and supplier dealings.

Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in retail buying or product selection, ideally in FMCG or general merchandise.

- Demonstrated experience in supplier negotiation and relationship management.
- Well-developed analytical, planning, and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and the ability to stay effective in a fast-moving environment.
