Role overview
This full-time bakery position is based in Victoria, British Columbia, at the James Bay store location. The role centers on serving customers in a friendly, professional manner while preparing custom cake and bakery orders, keeping the self-serve area stocked, and supporting a positive experience for both shoppers and coworkers.
This opportunity is with an independently owned and operated franchise location that uses a FreshCo trademark under license. If selected, you would be employed by the franchisee, not by Sobeys or its affiliates.
Key duties
- Deliver helpful, courteous customer service and respond to customer needs.
- Prepare special cake and bakery orders accurately.
- Set up and maintain the self-serve display case.
- Monitor and manage bakery supply inventory.
- Take part in ongoing professional development.
- Support additional tasks across the department when needed.
- Follow company standards and apply them consistently in daily work.
- Complete administrative tasks associated with the role.
What the employer is looking for
- Comfort working independently in a busy, fast-moving setting.
- Partial high school education.
- At least 3 months of relevant experience.
Compensation
The hourly pay for this position is in the range of $17.85 to $21.30, depending on work location, experience, skills, internal equity, and market conditions.
Additional information
Travel for this role is expected to be minimal, around 0% to 10%.
