Role overview
Caremark Edinburgh is looking for compassionate, dependable people to join its home care team in Edinburgh and the surrounding area. In this role, you will support clients in their own homes so they can continue living safely, comfortably, and with dignity. The position is available on full-time, part-time, and flexible-hour arrangements.
Pay is £13 to £15 per hour, with the rate varying by shift and experience. Enhanced rates are available for evening and weekend work. Mileage is reimbursed at 35p to 45p per mile.
Key duties
- Assist people with getting up, going to bed, washing, bathing, dressing, and toileting.
- Support mobility needs, physical disabilities, continence care, and the use of personal aids.
- Offer practical help and reassurance to people who are unwell or approaching end-of-life care.
- Encourage wellbeing through conversation, hobbies, outings, and other meaningful activities.
- Carry out light domestic tasks such as making beds, tidying, laundry, and emptying commodes.
- Prepare and serve light meals, set up trays, and wash up afterwards.
- Write accurate care notes, contribute to customer reviews, and keep records clear and up to date.
- Escalate any changes in a customer’s health, condition, or personal circumstances.
- Support independence wherever possible and appropriate.
Pay and benefits
