About The Role
Ryman Healthcare is seeking a compassionate Caregiver for a full-time, fixed-term position at Charles Upham Retirement Village in Rangiora, Canterbury. This role is to cover parental leave from July 3, 2026, to July 3, 2027, with a total of 33 hours per week. You will be part of a supportive and diverse team, making a meaningful impact on residents' lives.
Responsibilities
- Develop meaningful relationships with residents and their families.
- Provide individualized care according to resident care plans, ensuring a high standard of support.
- Utilize modern technology, including the company's care app, myRyman.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues to foster a positive team environment.
About You
The ideal candidate will possess a kind and empathetic nature, with outstanding communication skills and a reliable, friendly, and professional demeanor. While experience in aged care is advantageous, it is not essential. Applicants must have the legal right to work in New Zealand.

Additional Information
This is a fixed-term position covering parental leave from 03/07/2026 to 03/07/2027. The working hours are structured as follows:
- Resthome Unit: Fridays and Saturdays from 16:00 to 21:00, and Sundays and Mondays from 07:00 to 13:30.
- Special Care Unit (Dementia): Fridays and Saturdays from 07:00 to 13:30.
