Role overview
This permanent full-time caretaker position is based at Pendle Vale High School, Oxford Rd, Nelson BB9 8LF. The role runs for 37.5 hours each week, with working hours set to Monday to Friday, 5:30am to 1:30pm. The salary offered is £25,954.50 per year, along with a benefits package.
What the role involves
You will be responsible for the everyday management of the school site in relation to caretaking services. The role also involves building and maintaining a strong working relationship with the school and community groups, while making sure all services are delivered to a consistently high standard. You will support the Area Supervisor in meeting the requirements of the Project Agreement.
Security and clearance
This position requires a DBS clearance, so the ability to pass this check is essential. Applicants must also provide evidence of the right to work in the UK. A relocation package is not available for this role.

Candidate profile
We are looking for someone with experience in general cleaning, security duties, and basic maintenance of buildings and related plant and systems. You should also have experience supervising others, along with strong communication and customer care skills. A good understanding of health and safety principles is important, as is the ability to organise work, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
