Job description
About the Company
Assay Genie is a global supplier of life-science reagents with a catalog of more than 120,000 products. Its portfolio includes immunoassays, antibodies, proteins, and activity assays used by research and development scientists. Established in 2017, the business operates out of Dublin, Ireland and London, UK, and counts organizations such as Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, and Harvard University among its customers. The company has developed a strong ecommerce platform, a broad product range that supports cancer and immunology research, and a distributor network spanning more than 70 countries. It also continues to expand its technology offering, including GeniePlex multiplex immunoassays.
Role Overview
This remote position is open to candidates worldwide. The main objective is to increase distributor-channel revenue in line with company goals. The role owns a global distributor network across four regions and is responsible for putting that network onto a structured, performance-led basis, where each active partner operates to an agreed annual plan. It also involves expanding coverage into new and underserved markets. The position suits someone who is equally confident setting expectations and tracking performance as they are in building long-term partner relationships.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for managing the existing distributor base, growing channel revenue, onboarding new partners, enabling distributor success, handling commercial administration, leading a team member, and maintaining pipeline visibility and reporting.
- Take ownership of the commercial relationship and revenue results for the current distributor network across all four regions.
- Create a documented annual business plan with each active partner, covering targets, visits, webinars, trade-show activity, promotions, marketing support, and training requirements.
- Conduct structured quarterly business reviews with each distributor, record agreed actions, and ensure follow-up is completed.
- Track partner performance closely, identify shortfalls early, and act decisively when targets or activities are not being met.
- Focus time and support on the partners with the strongest value and growth potential.
- Research priority countries that are not yet served or are under-served, and build a pipeline of possible partners.
- Manage the end-to-end partner recruitment process, including market research, outreach, evaluation, due diligence, commercial negotiations, contracting, and onboarding.
- Recruit new distribution partners and help them become productive within a defined ramp-up period.
- Provide and coordinate product training so distributor teams can confidently sell the full range.
- Carry out joint customer and key-account visits with partners, and deliver in-person seminars for partners and their customers.
- Represent the company at major international trade shows, support partner stand activity, and identify potential opportunities in new markets.
- Work with internal marketing and communications teams to arrange distributor webinars, co-marketing initiatives, and promotional campaigns.
- Make sure partners always have up-to-date pricing, product details, and training materials.
- Administer distributor pricing and discount structures within approved limits.
- Manage territories and channel conflicts, resolving overlaps between distributors or between distributors and direct sales as early as possible.
- Oversee distributor contracts and compliance so that every active partner remains on a current and properly followed agreement.
- Directly manage the Distributor Development Representative, setting goals and coaching performance.
- Maintain full visibility of the channel pipeline and drive opportunities to closure within the company’s timelines.
- Keep accurate distributor revenue reports, pipeline updates, and forecasts for the Sales Director and CEO.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in channel management, distributor management, international B2B sales, or a similar commercial role.
- Proven success in generating revenue through third-party distributors, along with a clear interest in recruiting and onboarding new partners.
- Strong ability to set targets and follow through, supported by a specific example of handling an underperforming partner or account.
- Excellent self-management, with the ability to work remotely with limited supervision.
- Willingness to travel internationally when required.
- Comfort and proficiency with CRM tools and pipeline reporting.
- Helpful scientific understanding or a life-science degree is preferred because the product range includes ELISA kits, antibodies, recombinant proteins, multiplex assays, and genomics reagents.
- Existing contacts or market knowledge in one or more of the network regions is an advantage.
- Previous experience recruiting distribution partners in new territories is desirable.
Package
The role offers a competitive base salary, with the final amount negotiable based on experience and discussed during the hiring process. In addition, there is performance-linked commission and a bonus tied to distributor-channel revenue growth and new-partner targets.
Additional Information
This is a remote full-time role. Candidates from anywhere in the world may apply. The position includes international travel and team leadership responsibilities.
