Job description
Role overview
The Chief Operating Officer is a senior leadership role focused on running the business efficiently on a day-to-day basis, turning strategy into action, and helping the organization grow in a sustainable way. The position partners closely with top leadership to strengthen operations, improve performance, and keep the company aligned with its long-term goals.
This role calls for a strong executive presence, sound commercial judgement, and the ability to grow teams, systems, and processes in a fast-moving environment.
Core responsibilities
You will guide operational planning, support business expansion, and help build a framework that can scale as the company grows. A major part of the role is ensuring strong governance and consistent execution across the business.
You will also oversee daily operations across departments, raise efficiency and productivity, and track performance through clear goals and KPIs. Monitoring operational risks and overall business performance will be part of the scope as well.
On the financial side, the role involves budgeting support, forecasting, and careful allocation of resources to protect profitability and enable long-term growth. You will also help ensure the organization uses its resources effectively.
Another key focus is leadership. The COO is expected to build and mentor strong leadership teams, encourage accountability and high standards, and improve collaboration across functions.
The role further includes identifying opportunities for operational improvement, recognizing market possibilities, and leading transformation initiatives that support scale and expansion.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in business, management, finance, economics, or a similar field is required. An MBA is preferred.
The ideal candidate should bring more than 10 years of senior leadership and management experience, including direct exposure to operations and organizational development. Strong analytical ability, financial judgement, and confident decision-making are essential.
You should also have experience managing large teams and driving business performance, along with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred background
Experience in fintech, blockchain, technology, or startup environments is preferred. Candidates who have built and scaled new business operations, or who understand digital transformation and business innovation, will be especially well suited.
Compensation and benefits
The annual salary range is USD 220,000 to USD 350,000, depending on experience, executive background, and the stage of the business.
Additional benefits include an annual executive performance bonus, potential equity or stock incentives, flexible remote or hybrid working arrangements, paid time off and company holidays, health/dental/vision insurance, leadership development programs, support for professional certification and training, global career development opportunities, an annual compensation review, and health plus employee assistance programs.
Why this role stands out
This position offers the opportunity to join the executive leadership team, help shape company strategy, build scalable operations and high-performing teams, and create measurable impact through innovation in a rapidly evolving market.
