Chip Shop Assistant

Role overview

Join Haven as a Cooks Fish and Chip Shop Team Member in Porthmadog, Wales. In this role, you’ll help prepare and serve classic fish and chip shop favourites while giving guests and owners a friendly, welcoming experience. The position is available on a full-time, part-time, or seasonal basis.

Pay

Hourly pay can be up to £12.71, with the exact rate depending on age.

What you’ll do

• Cook, fry, portion, and package fish, chips, and other menu items in line with recipes and quality expectations.
• Maintain a safe and hygienic workspace by following food handling, health, and safety rules.
• Welcome guests, take orders promptly, and help ensure a positive service experience.
• Coordinate with the wider team to keep operations running smoothly, especially when demand is high.

What we’re looking for

• Experience in fast food or customer-facing work is helpful, but it is not essential.
• Good communication skills and a positive, guest-focused approach.
• The ability to stay productive in a busy, fast-moving environment.
• Availability for evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
