Job description
Role Overview
The Cinematographer will shape and produce visually compelling content that presents Chandigarh University’s academic strength, campus culture, student journeys, key events, and overall brand presence. This position calls for strong command over cinematography, visual narrative development, camera handling, lighting, and creative direction to deliver content for digital platforms, social channels, admissions, and branding initiatives.
Video Production & Cinematography
- Plan and carry out professional video shoots for brand promotion, admissions, marketing drives, corporate films, and promotional assets.
- Record high-quality visuals covering campus facilities, academic life, student experiences, faculty engagement, institutional events, and achievements.
- Use cinema cameras, DSLR/mirrorless systems, drones, gimbals, and lighting tools effectively during production.
- Maintain strong composition, framing, camera movement, and overall visual appeal on set.
- Create visual stories that reflect and strengthen Chandigarh University’s brand identity.
Creative Direction
- Work with branding, content, admissions, and marketing teams to shape concepts and storyboards for video projects.
- Convert campaign goals into content that is visually engaging and audience-focused.
- Suggest fresh shooting approaches, cinematic methods, and content styles that improve viewer engagement.
Post-Production Support
- Coordinate with editors to keep post-production smooth and efficient.
- Review captured footage, share editing guidance, and help ensure the final output meets quality expectations.
- Assist with color grading, visual effects, and motion graphics integration when needed.
Event & Campaign Coverage
- Handle videography and cinematography for university events, conferences, convocations, cultural celebrations, and leadership interactions.
- Create testimonial films, interviews, documentaries, and institutional videos.
- Manage outdoor and location-based shoots while maintaining production efficiency.
Asset & Equipment Management
- Take care of camera systems, drones, lighting arrangements, audio equipment, and media assets.
- Keep video files properly stored, organized, and backed up.
