Role Overview
Aldar Education is hiring a UAE National Classroom Assistant for Abdulla Bin Otaiba Charter School in Abu Dhabi, with an immediate start planned for December 2025. The school follows an American curriculum and serves mixed-gender primary students. It promotes high standards and focuses on creating a collaborative, leadership-driven, and creative learning environment.
What You Will Do
- Support individual students and small groups inside and outside the classroom so they can take part fully in school activities and maintain their social, emotional, and physical well-being.
- Stay alert to health and safety matters and take a proactive approach to them.
- Help put individual education plans into practice and track student progress.
- Assist students who need additional support, including those with emotional or behavioural challenges, while helping them build social skills.
- Help teachers keep student records up to date.
- Create and display student work in the classroom and around the school.
- Support teaching activities by photocopying and handling other related tasks.
- Work in line with school aims, health and safety rules, relevant legislation, and school policies.
- Maintain a professional standard in dress, punctuality, and attendance.
- Take part in team and staff meetings when needed.
- Coordinate with specialists such as speech therapists and occupational therapists as required.
- Carry out any other duties assigned by the principal from time to time.
- Provide academic support through group instruction or one-to-one help as directed by the teacher.
- Demonstrate learning activities and teaching support methods.
- Monitor classwork, check work in progress, and correct it when appropriate.
- Keep students focused and engaged on assigned tasks.
- Encourage learners by praising effort and achievement and sharing progress updates with the teacher.
- Organize learning materials at the end of the day.
- Check student attendance.
- Supervise students in classrooms and other school areas.
- Support the development of behaviour policy and help build student self-esteem.
- Address misbehaviour according to the whole-school discipline policy.
Qualifications and Requirements
- You must be a UAE National.
- A minimum of a secondary school certificate is required; a bachelor’s degree is also acceptable.
- At least 2 years of experience working in UAE schools is necessary.
- You should have English language ability, or proficiency in the language used in the school curriculum.
