Role Overview
The Cleaner is responsible for keeping the property in excellent condition, supporting residents with a professional attitude, and handling a mix of cleaning, light maintenance, and administrative tasks. This position helps ensure common areas, vacant homes, and outdoor spaces remain safe, tidy, and ready for use.
Key Duties
- Keep shared spaces clean and presentable, including lobbies, amenity rooms, underground parking, locker areas, patios, and rooftops
- Use cleaning products safely and with proper knowledge of chemical handling
- Deep clean empty units so they are ready for new occupants, including appliances, flooring, walls, windows, kitchens, bathrooms, and balconies
- Clear dust from fire hose cabinets, elevator bells, and elevator tracks
- Apply safe handling practices for cleaning supplies in line with WHMIS guidance
- Carry out exterior upkeep such as collecting litter, removing snow and ice, and salting entrances, walkways, and rooftop walkways
- Complete small repairs, including items like light fixtures, vents, filters, and plumbing fixtures
- Inspect, clean, and maintain garbage chutes, bins, and recycling rooms
- Move garbage and recycling containers according to the municipal collection schedule
- Remove waste items and defective appliances
- Welcome residents courteously and maintain a professional, service-focused approach
- Create a friendly and inviting atmosphere for the community
- Respond to resident concerns and service requests within 24 hours
- Follow up to confirm residents are satisfied with the service provided
- Support office administration by processing online applications, preparing notices, managing lease renewals, and handling related operational tasks
- Help plan, promote, and run resident events such as holiday parties and summer barbecues
Qualifications
- Prior professional experience in cleaning
- Strong customer service ability
- Demonstrated experience with general cleaning work and minor repair tasks
- Capability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to push and move items heavier than 50 lbs, such as garbage bins and appliances
- Comfort interacting professionally with residents, coworkers, and contractors
- Fluency in both English and French is required for Quebec-based work
