Job description
Overview
Business Insider is seeking a Client Success Manager to join its Revenue Operations function and lead account management for direct and programmatic partnerships with East Coast clients. The role is part of a team focused on delivering strong post-sale execution, strengthening client relationships, and driving renewal and expansion opportunities across a broad digital product portfolio.
Business Insider describes itself as a forward-looking media company that aims to motivate people through insightful, accessible storytelling. Its culture is built around teamwork, effectiveness, and continuous improvement.
Team and role context
The Client Success team supports a wide range of digital offerings, including branded content, display advertising, video, social media, and other content and media solutions. The group works closely with sales and internal partners to ensure booked revenue is delivered, additional revenue opportunities are identified, and client relationships remain strong over time.
This position partners with clients and cross-functional teams such as Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Finance to manage the full post-sale lifecycle. The role is based in New York City and requires an on-site presence of at least two days per week. It reports to the Associate Director of Client Success and sits within the Revenue Strategy team.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver high-touch support for direct and programmatic digital advertising campaigns, serving as the main contact for execution and campaign performance after the sale closes.
- Coordinate closely with sales and media planning teams within an assigned pod, sharing campaign updates, client feedback, and possible upsell or incremental revenue opportunities.
- Build a deep understanding of every sold campaign element, including preparing kickoff materials, leading kickoff conversations with internal and external stakeholders, and acting as the primary post-sale contact.
- Partner with ad operations, media planning, and project management teams to track creative setup, delivery, pacing, execution, and overall performance against campaign goals.
- Review performance data, identify optimization opportunities, and make recommendations that support retention and account growth.
- Work with ad operations to resolve creative or tracking issues that could affect reporting accuracy and minimize discrepancies.
- Keep a close watch on pacing and delivery trends, escalating risks or opportunities to the right internal teams before they become issues.
- Help prepare and present campaign recap reports with key learnings, insights, and next-step recommendations.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate brings a partnership-first mindset, strong communication and listening abilities, and a comfort level with analyzing data to uncover trends. They should be able to explain campaign results clearly to both internal teams and clients, and provide practical recommendations based on the story behind the numbers.
This person should be collaborative, solutions-oriented, organized, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment. Success in this role also requires curiosity, accountability, and a willingness to keep improving.
Experience and skills required
- At least 3 years of experience in client success, account management, digital advertising, media planning, campaign management, or a similar area.
- Background at a digital publisher, agency, media company, ad tech company, or comparable organization is preferred.
- Working knowledge of the programmatic advertising ecosystem.
- Understanding of audience segmentation, targeting approaches, and digital campaign measurement.
- Proven ability to manage client relationships as a dependable day-to-day contact.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced setting.
- Comfort using advertising and analytics tools such as Salesforce, GAM, Google Analytics, Permutive, Operative, Boostr, Parse.ly, Pressboard, Meta/Facebook, or similar platforms.
- Strong presentation, organizational, communication, and problem-solving capabilities.
- High attention to detail and the ability to handle several campaigns and deadlines at once.
- Self-driven, collaborative, and motivated to grow within a media organization.
Compensation and benefits
The base salary range for this position is $80,000 to $90,000 annually. The role is also eligible for an annual performance bonus.
- Flexible paid time off
- 10 company holidays
- 16 weeks of parental leave
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance
- Matched and vested 401(k) plan
- Support resources for financial planning, family planning, mental health, and employee assistance
