Role summary

Dexterra is hiring a dependable, detail-oriented Commercial Cleaner for its military base location in Kingston. The role is focused on keeping the facility clean and presentable to a very high standard. Day shifts are available.

Pay: $18 per hour

Key duties

• Clean and disinfect areas such as medical spaces, offices, classrooms, washrooms, conference rooms, corridors, and fitness rooms.
• Respond to urgent calls using a radio or pager.
• Escalate issues, incidents, and maintenance deficiencies to management.
• Remove dust from surfaces, including items at floor level and furniture where needed.
• Perform spot-cleaning on walls, partitions, light switches, doors, and window sills.
• Polish chrome and other shiny metal finishes.
• Sanitize washroom fixtures using mild cleaning products.
• Wet-mop small hard-surface floor areas.
• Attend mandatory health and safety training and use personal protective equipment whenever required.

Qualifications

• Previous commercial cleaning experience is preferred but not essential.
• A fingerprint-based security clearance is required to work on the military base.
• A clean criminal record is mandatory.
• Applicants must be able to provide two government-issued IDs, including one with a photograph.
