Role overview

As Commercial Manager for Uganda, you will shape and execute the country’s commercial direction. The role combines new restaurant acquisition with strategic account management, with the goal of expanding local presence, improving operational performance, and strengthening Uganda’s position as a top market. This is a senior leadership role for someone who can pair strategy, negotiation, analytics, and people leadership.

What you will do

  • Create and steer the long-term commercial plan for Uganda.
  • Own multiple commercial areas such as sales, partnerships, and monetization.
  • Review business and financial information to support major commercial decisions.
  • Manage and develop a team of 9 people, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and career growth.
  • Support local commercial teams in meeting sales and account management goals while maintaining strong partner relationships.
  • Partner with marketing, operations, and finance to ensure fast and high-quality execution.
  • Work closely with details, troubleshoot issues, and turn problems into workable solutions with the team.
  • Drive project rollout and convert initiatives into clear action plans for continuous improvement.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at leading restaurants.
  • Keep main stakeholders informed on progress, status updates, and follow-up actions.

What we are looking for

  • At least 5 years of experience leading strong commercial teams, preferably across several countries or markets.
  • Demonstrated success negotiating major contracts and developing durable relationships with senior executives.
  • Strong commercial judgment and the ability to understand partner business models and create value-led strategies.
  • Advanced stakeholder management skills for working effectively with internal teams and external partners.
  • A data-driven approach with solid analytical ability to solve complex commercial challenges.
  • Excellent project management skills with a structured, organized, and detail-focused style of execution.
  • A creative, innovative mindset that can generate practical, out-of-the-box solutions for growth.
