Overview
Doha Petroleum Construction Co. W.L.L. is hiring an experienced Electrical Commissioning Engineer / Commissioning Lead for a major Oil & Gas / Water Treatment assignment in Qatar. The role centers on guiding commissioning activities from the early completion stage through final handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and carry out pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up work for electrical and multi-discipline systems.
- Check engineering and contract documents to make sure commissioning needs are built into the project design.
- Develop and assess commissioning procedures, method statements, execution plans, and schedules.
- Oversee mechanical completion and progress toward facility handover using completion management tools.
- Liaise with vendors, clients, and cross-functional teams across the commissioning phase.
- Compile commissioning status updates, final dossiers, and handover records.
- Maintain adherence to HSSE standards and help foster a strong safety-first culture.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
- Applicants should bring 13 to 15 years of commissioning background in Oil & Gas and/or Water Treatment projects.
- Practical knowledge of electrical systems is essential.
- Experience with LV, MV, and HV switchgear is needed.
- Experience with transformers, power management systems, UPS systems, lighting, and earthing systems is expected.
- Exposure to HVAC electrical systems, ICSS/DCS/PLC and control systems, Fire & Gas systems, rotating equipment, static equipment, and process and utility systems is required.
- Hands-on use of OPERCOM and completion management platforms such as ICAPS or WinPCS is necessary.
- Prior involvement in mechanical completion, commissioning, performance testing, and facility handover is important.
- Strong familiarity with commissioning records and dossier preparation is required.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination abilities are needed.
