About the role
The Consultant Strategy & Relations Director will help deepen Included Health’s connections with brokers and consultants while building stronger preference for the company’s solutions in the market. This person will work across national and regional consulting firms in the assigned territory, developing trusted relationships with influential advisors and using those relationships to increase awareness, credibility, and advocacy for Included Health.
The role works closely with Sales and Client Success to support pipeline growth, active deal progression, and strategic renewals. It also serves as an important channel for consultant feedback that can inform market positioning, improve win rates, and guide broader commercial strategy.
Consultant relationship development
- Create and sustain trusted partnerships with key consultants across the assigned territory and target firms.
- Expand the network by building relationships with senior consultants and recognized industry leaders.
- Act as the main relationship owner for consulting partners, including setting up partnership agreements with national consulting firms.
Pipeline development and sales partnership
- Work with Sales Regional Vice Presidents to align on territory plans that make use of consultant relationships.
- Identify high-priority consultants tied to important prospects and help arrange introductions that move opportunities forward.
- Support live opportunities by sharing guidance on consultant dynamics, message framing, and positioning that can strengthen win rates.
- Clearly communicate Included Health’s value proposition and differentiators to consultant and broker partners.
Market education and thought leadership
- Educate the consultant community on Included Health’s products, solutions, and strategic direction, including early previews before new products launch.
- Organize meetings and engagements that deepen consultant understanding of the company’s offerings and improve market positioning.
- Partner with Sales and Marketing to deliver targeted communications and consultant awareness initiatives.
Client success and renewal support
- Collaborate with Client Success on strategic accounts where consultant relationships are important to renewals or upsell opportunities.
- Advise teams on how to engage consultants effectively for priority clients.
- Help resolve consultant concerns early and influence outcomes in complex renewals or audits.
Market intelligence and insights
- Track consultant opinions, industry trends, and emerging priorities across broker and consulting organizations.
- Share practical insights with Sales, Client Success, and other partners to support strategy and market messaging.
- Collect and interpret consultant feedback to inform messaging, product packaging, and future roadmap considerations.
Qualifications
- At least 10 years of client-facing experience in health and benefits.
- Background working at a consulting firm or brokerage firm.
- Exposure to, or interest in, consultative selling.
- Experience working in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas to varied audiences.
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to two times per month.
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
Compensation
The U.S. new-hire base salary target for this full-time role is $170,000 to $228,000, plus bonus, equity, and benefits. The exact starting salary will be determined by factors such as education, training, skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications and licensure, business needs, internal equity, organizational factors, and geographic market data.
This position is also eligible for a performance-based bonus. Bonus-plan details, including performance metrics, target incentives, and potential earnings, will be shared during the interview process.
