Role overview
This opportunity is for a Consulting Engineer role within Cisco Customer Experience (CX) in Mulshi, Maharashtra. About the team
Cisco CX is focused on delivering an outstanding customer experience through deep technical expertise. The team supports enterprise customers with network-centric solutions that help them solve complex business problems, speed up adoption, expand deployments, and renew their Cisco investments. Consulting Engineering works with major organizations to design, implement, and fine-tune modern networks based on Cisco SD-Access, SD-WAN, and Routing & Switching, with the goal of translating technical outcomes into measurable business results.
What you will do
- Join customer discussions to understand business and technical needs, then translate those needs into project scope and outcomes.
- Assist with the rollout, setup, and migration of Cisco SD-Access, SD-WAN, and Routing & Switching environments, including work during approved change windows.
- Create and use lab setups to investigate issues, confirm designs, and ensure delivery quality.
- Help prepare project deliverables, migration plans, and customer documentation, while using AI-based tools for analysis, narrative support, and timeline planning and verifying their results.
- Contribute reusable templates, lessons learned, and knowledge-sharing material to strengthen team know-how.
Minimum qualifications
You should have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, along with 2+ years of relevant networking experience, or an equivalent mix of education and experience totaling up to 3 years. An active CCNA certification is required. Practical experience with Cisco Routing & Switching technologies such as Catalyst switches, ISR/ASR routers, and IOS-XE is also needed, along with familiarity with routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP, plus core LAN/WAN concepts. You must also have experience troubleshooting production networks and exposure to at least one of Cisco SD-Access or Cisco SD-WAN/Meraki.
Preferred qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates progressing toward CCNP Enterprise certification, with basic scripting and automation capability in Python, Ansible, or REST APIs. Comfort with AI-assisted productivity tools, along with the habit of checking AI-generated output, will be helpful. Strong written and verbal communication skills are important, as is a cooperative, customer-focused mindset and willingness to learn from feedback.
