About the Company
Farm to People is an online grocery delivery and farmers market service focused on locally sourced, sustainably produced food. Customers can either subscribe to curated Farm Boxes or shop individually through the marketplace. The business delivers seven days a week and is actively growing in New York City. Its purpose is to offer a transparent, ethical food marketplace where customers understand the origins of what they buy. The team is close-knit, inclusive, and made up of people who are genuinely enthusiastic about food.
Role Overview
Farm to People is hiring a Content & Creative Lead to take charge of the brand’s visual and creative direction. This is a hands-on position within a small marketing team, so the work spans many different projects and changes from week to week. As the team expands, there is room to take on deeper ownership and grow within the role.
The ideal candidate is highly creative, resourceful, and detail-focused, with the ability to deliver polished work across both digital and print channels. The role calls for strong design judgment, a consistent visual eye, and the ability to solve problems practically as the company continues to scale. This position reports to the Chief Brand Officer and partners closely with the wider marketing team.
Photography and Video Production
- Oversee the full photo and video production process, from planning and shooting to directing and final editing.
- Capture content in a variety of settings, including farms, product flat lays, recipe shoots, pop-ups, events, and lifestyle scenes.
- Create video content optimized for platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and paid advertising, including reels, stories, ads, and similar formats.
- Develop and keep an organized content library that can be accessed by the wider team.
Design and Brand Creative
- Handle design work across digital and print, including social media assets, email templates, packaging, pitch decks, event materials, website graphics, and related collateral.
- Produce polished, brand-aligned creative that strengthens engagement and improves brand recognition.
- Lead special creative initiatives such as infographics, UX-related design work, and additional website assets.
- Research and evaluate materials for packaging, printing, and other physical brand applications, including reviewing vendors, samples, and prototypes during the iteration process.
- Ensure a consistent visual identity across all customer-facing and internal touchpoints.
Content and Creative Execution
- Stay informed on current platform formats and trends, and regularly introduce fresh creative ideas.
- Support the drafting of creative briefs for campaigns, partnerships, and special initiatives.
- Collaborate across marketing, partnerships, and operations to make sure creative work aligns with broader objectives and deadlines.
Systems and Asset Management
- Create and maintain structured systems for creative assets, templates, and brand materials.
- Set up clear file organization, naming standards, and handoff processes that can scale with the team.
Tools and Innovation
- Continuously explore new tools, technologies, and AI-enabled workflows that can improve creative speed and output.
- Share recommendations with the team and implement new approaches when appropriate.
Experience and Qualifications
The role requires 3 to 5 years of practical experience in content creation, creative production, or a comparable field. The right candidate should have strong graphic design ability and experience producing work for both digital and print formats, including social media, email, packaging, and marketing materials.
Applicants should also have strong photography skills, including lighting, composition, and editing, along with a good understanding of food styling and lifestyle composition. Video production experience is essential, including shooting, directing, and editing content for multiple platforms and formats.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and video editing tools is expected. The ideal person is highly organized, comfortable balancing multiple priorities, and able to work with a structured, systems-oriented approach. Curiosity about new tools and a proactive mindset toward improving workflows are important, as is a genuine interest in food, farming, and the people behind food production.
Preferred Background and Work Style
Preference will be given to candidates who are passionate about local farming and the New York City food scene, bring an entrepreneurial mindset, and can perform independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team. Because this is a startup environment, the role also suits someone who is comfortable in a lively, energetic workplace and excited by innovation.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary: USD 70,000 to 80,000, depending on experience.
- Health coverage and paid time off.
- Discounts on Farm to People groceries and prepared meals for employees.
- Opportunities to participate in industry events, food festivals, and community gatherings.
