Job description

Company overview

La Lumiere New York designs jewelry that is elegant, affordable, and easy to wear across everyday moments as well as special events. The collection is meant to be mixed, stacked, and personalized so customers can express their own style. The brand follows a “Be the Light” philosophy and also contributes 5% of proceeds to nonprofit groups creating positive change in their communities.

Role summary

This part-time, on-site role in Austin is suited for a highly creative, independent content creator who can also manage social media. The main responsibility is to own the brand’s Instagram and TikTok presence for a fashion and accessories audience. You will partner closely with the Founder, Director of Operations, and Marketing Director to bring a social strategy to life that strengthens awareness, engagement, and sales.

Key responsibilities

  • Produce and publish a steady stream of Instagram story content, including products, behind-the-scenes moments, customer features, and lifestyle-oriented brand visuals.
  • Create short-form video content for Instagram and TikTok several times per week, mixing product-led, trend-based, and lifestyle formats.
  • Develop reusable story layouts and recurring content formats that can be prepared in batches ahead of time.
  • Monitor trends on Instagram and TikTok and adapt them quickly for the brand.
  • Reply to direct messages and comments every day without prompting.
  • Interact genuinely with customer posts, mentions, tags, and stories.
  • Share customer-generated content back to stories when appropriate.
  • Keep a content calendar organized at least 2 to 3 weeks ahead.
  • Contribute twice a month to the marketing deck with organic social performance, wins, and engagement takeaways.
  • Track current Instagram and TikTok trends to support ongoing content ideation.
  • Support social content planning for product launches and seasonal campaigns with the wider team.
  • Help manage influencer and creator relationships, including product shipments and outreach tracking in shared spreadsheets.

Success measures

The role will be judged by consistent story posting, regular Reels output, timely community responses, steady follower growth, a healthy engagement rate, and a content calendar that stays ahead by at least two weeks.

Skills and tools

The role calls for strong visual storytelling, social media fluency, fast trend awareness, strong organization, and the ability to create, edit, and publish content independently. Familiarity with content design, video editing, scheduling platforms, analytics tools, and AI-assisted ideation is important.

Additional requirements

  • Candidates must be based in Austin, TX.
  • You should be comfortable creating, editing, and posting content on your own.
  • A real interest in fashion, apparel, jewelry, and accessories is important.
  • You need to be highly familiar with Instagram and TikTok trends.
  • The ideal person is proactive, organized, and able to manage their own posting schedule.
  • Experience with tools such as Canva, CapCut, or similar editing software is needed.
  • Familiarity with scheduling and analytics platforms such as HeyOrca, Later, Planoly, or similar is preferred.
  • Prior use of AI tools such as Claude or ChatGPT for brainstorming, storyboarding, or hook development is helpful, though output should not depend entirely on them.
