About the role

OSEA Malibu is seeking an experienced Content & Editorial Strategist to join a growing beauty brand team. This position is a key part of the company’s expansion and is best suited to someone who is energized by brand storytelling, copywriting, sustainability, and clean beauty. The team is looking for a candidate who cares deeply about language, brand expression, and wellness, and who is comfortable working in a fast-moving environment. The brand’s mission is to develop skincare that delivers strong results while remaining safe for both the planet and people.

This position follows a hybrid schedule, with an expectation to be on-site at the Venice, California headquarters one to two days each week.

Responsibilities

  • Build and direct editorial and content plans that support launches, integrated campaigns, and broader business priorities.
  • Shape and continuously refine the brand’s voice and content approach across all owned channels so that messaging stays consistent, distinct, and aligned with the brand identity.
  • Create messaging structures, storytelling themes, and content frameworks that support execution across every customer interaction.
  • Write persuasive copy for launches, campaigns, email, social media, retail materials, events, and seasonal programs while also building reusable content systems that help cross-functional teams work efficiently.
  • Oversee editorial direction for the website, producing content that improves the customer journey, supports SEO, and expresses the brand through product pages, feature stories, and long-form articles.
  • Maintain the editorial calendar and ensure content priorities align with campaign schedules, launches, seasonal moments, and business objectives.
  • Develop content briefs, messaging structures, editorial guidance, and channel-specific frameworks that support consistent delivery across Creative, E-Commerce, Social, Paid, and Lifecycle Marketing teams.
  • Work closely with Creative, Brand Marketing, E-Commerce, Product Marketing, Education, and Digital partners to build integrated campaigns from a content-led perspective.
  • Translate ingredient science, clinical findings, sustainability efforts, and product innovation into consumer-friendly messaging that informs and inspires.
  • Review performance data, SEO insights, consumer behavior, and competitor activity to uncover content opportunities, improve existing assets, and guide future strategy.
  • Track trends in beauty, wellness, digital culture, and broader culture to keep the brand’s storytelling current, differentiated, and aligned with its point of view.
  • Uphold editorial standards by protecting brand voice consistency and improving content best practices over time.

Requirements

  • Strong communication and interpersonal ability, both written and verbal.
  • Comfort with using AI tools to improve workflow efficiency and speed.
  • Prior experience using Figma.
  • At least 5 years of copywriting experience, ideally within beauty, wellness, or lifestyle brands.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading capabilities, supported by a strong portfolio.
  • Ability to shift tone and voice effectively across multiple formats, including digital, print, social, email, and video scripts.
  • Working knowledge of SEO best practices and performance-focused copywriting.
  • Solid project management skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.
  • Must live in Los Angeles and be prepared to work on Pacific Standard Time.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Compensation

The expected salary range for this position is $80,000 to $95,000 per year. Final compensation will depend on factors such as skills, qualifications, experience, and location, and not every candidate will qualify for the top end of the range.
