Job description
Role Overview
AMWAJ Group of Companies is hiring a Cook for a full-time, on-site position in Qatar. The role centers on preparing, cooking, and serving a range of dishes in line with the company’s menu and quality expectations.
Key Duties
- Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to menu requirements and company standards.
- Support menu planning and help with ingredient preparation before service.
- Maintain consistent portion sizes and food quality across all meals.
- Follow food safety rules, hygiene practices, and HSE procedures at all times.
- Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and ready for efficient daily operations.
- Assist with stock checks, food storage, and rotation of ingredients to reduce waste.
- Work with other kitchen team members to ensure meals are delivered on time.
- Help train and guide junior staff when needed.
- Be available for flexible scheduling, including weekends and holidays, based on operational needs.
Qualifications and Expectations
- Prior experience working as a Cook or with Tagalog cuisine is required.
- Candidates must be willing to work in Ras Laffan.
- Good understanding of cooking techniques, food preparation, and portion control for a variety of dishes.
- Solid knowledge of food hygiene, safe ingredient handling, proper storage, and HSE practices.
- Ability to perform well in a busy environment while managing several tasks at once.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the discipline to follow instructions and SOPs.
- Basic math and organizing skills for inventory, labelling, and kitchen records.
- Formal culinary education, such as a certificate or diploma, is preferred; experience in industrial catering or hospitality is an added advantage.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays, and comply with site safety rules.
