Role Overview

The company is looking for a polished, proactive Corporate Affairs Specialist based in Abuja to strengthen strategic partnerships, manage stakeholder communication, and support business growth efforts. This role works closely with the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer and is especially focused on maintaining effective engagement with the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), while also coordinating with other government, regulatory, and corporate stakeholders.

The position is suitable for an ambitious professional who can balance relationship management, partnership coordination, business development support, and administrative follow-through. The role also offers exposure to senior-level interactions across public and private sector environments.

Key Responsibilities

You will help drive the company’s external relations and partnership activities through structured coordination and professional communication.

  • Assist in planning, executing, and managing strategic partnership initiatives.
  • Build and sustain constructive relationships with regulators, public agencies, business partners, and other corporate stakeholders.
  • Act as a regular point of contact between the organization and its strategic partners.
  • Organize stakeholder meetings, engagement sessions, and follow-up actions.
  • Support the implementation of partnership agreements and joint initiatives.
  • Serve as the main coordination contact for interactions with the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON).
  • Arrange SON-related meetings, workshops, project reviews, and other engagement activities.
  • Monitor action items, commitments, and deliverables that emerge from stakeholder discussions.
  • Maintain smooth communication with SON and help resolve concerns or operational issues.
  • Identify opportunities in government, regulatory, and strategic sectors that may support business growth.
  • Assist with proposals, bid submissions, presentations, and partnership materials.
  • Coordinate meetings between potential clients and management.
  • Keep an updated pipeline of partnership and business development prospects.
  • Support initiatives that improve the company’s market visibility and reach.
  • Draft reports, briefing notes, correspondence, presentations, and meeting minutes.
  • Manage stakeholder communication and ensure prompt responses.
  • Maintain accurate records of interactions, agreements, and engagement activities.
  • Represent the company at conferences, exhibitions, workshops, industry events, and networking forums.
  • Promote the organization’s services, priorities, and strategic goals in a professional manner.
  • Support networking activities that help generate business opportunities and strengthen brand presence.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly engagement reports.
  • Maintain stakeholder and partnership databases.
  • Track progress on key activities and provide management updates.
  • Ensure proper filing and documentation of meetings, agreements, and correspondence.
  • Assist with special projects and strategic initiatives as needed.

Performance Expectations

Success in this role will be measured by the quality of relationships maintained, the responsiveness of stakeholder coordination, the number of business opportunities identified, the effectiveness of reporting, and the organization’s visibility in relevant government and industry spaces.

Qualifications and Experience

A bachelor’s degree is required. Suitable fields include Business Administration, Public Administration, Political Science, International Relations, Marketing, Mass Communication, Law, Information Technology, Economics, or a related discipline.

The role requires 2–5 years of relevant post-NYSC experience in areas such as business development, corporate affairs, government relations, stakeholder engagement, account management, or project coordination.

Experience working with government agencies, regulatory bodies, or technology companies is an advantage. Familiarity with the Nigerian public sector and prior interaction with institutions such as SON, NITDA, NCS, NAFDAC, NCC, CAC, FIRS, or NIMC will be beneficial.

Professional certifications or training in business development, public relations, corporate affairs, stakeholder management, project management, government relations, or strategic partnerships are desirable.
