Role Overview

Mr. Handyman of E. Nashville & Hendersonville is expanding its team in Mandeville, Louisiana. The company is looking for a highly experienced craftsman who can handle a wide range of home repair and maintenance work while providing excellent customer service. In this role, you will be supported by a team that manages calls, schedules jobs, and supplies a company van for work visits.

What the Role Involves

• Carry out small to medium repair and maintenance tasks for both residential and commercial properties, with jobs that may take anywhere from about two hours to several days.
• Explain needed work clearly to customers, help them understand scope and pricing, and set realistic expectations.
• Create a positive customer experience that encourages repeat business and follows the company’s standard service process.

Performance Expectations

• Maintain strong customer satisfaction by encouraging survey responses and consistently delivering a high-quality experience.
• Help generate revenue by identifying additional services that may benefit the customer once on site.
• Invoice correctly, source materials as needed, and collect payment from customers.
• Produce first-time-right work, since all services are backed by a one-year guarantee.

• Work independently and stay organized, since you will often be operating alone.
• Communicate professionally with customers, request reviews, and handle payment conversations confidently.
• Bring and use the necessary tools, including comfort with technology and digital documentation.
• Follow the company’s process for recording job details and completing work.
• Wear proper PPE and protective booties when working in customer homes.

Minimum Requirements

• Must live within the local service area.
• At least 8 years of professional trades experience is required.
• Must have your own tools.
• Must be eligible to be insured to drive the company vehicle.
• Must pass background, drug, and driving-record checks.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Ability to work at heights and overhead for long periods safely.
• Professional presentation and care of the company vehicle are expected.

Core Trade Experience

The ideal candidate should be highly proficient in at least three of the following areas:

• Carpentry
• Bathroom remodeling or improvements
• Kitchen remodeling or improvements
• Interior and exterior painting
• Minor and major drywall repairs
• General plumbing and electrical work, where permitted by law
• Floor installation and refinishing
• Knowledge of building codes

Compensation and Benefits

The pay for this position is between $50,000 and $65,000 per year, depending on your handyman background and your experience with related repair work such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and drywall.
