The Brand

Haus of Chain is working with SLICKHAIR, an energetic and rapidly expanding beauty and personal care label in Australia. The brand is recognised for its confident creative direction, highly sought-after product range, and steadily increasing retail presence across Australia and the United States. It has developed a strong and loyal customer community that connects deeply with the brand and what it stands for.

The business is in a strong growth phase, with plans that include broader retail partnerships such as Target US, continued product expansion, and a focus on maintaining a brand presence that feels consistent, polished, and culturally relevant across every customer interaction.

The Role

This position sits at the centre of SLICKHAIR’s creative output. As Creative Director, you will own the global creative direction of the brand, making sure all visual communication stays consistent, refined, and aligned across digital and physical channels.

This is a hands-on creative leadership role, not a pure management position. The right person will enjoy actively designing and producing work, whether that means pitching campaign ideas to the Founder or assembling asset packs for retail partners.

Finding the right mix between strategic thinking and hands-on craft is essential. You will be expected to create, direct, and execute work while also shaping the broader creative direction, continually lifting the standard of the brand across markets.

Key Responsibilities

Brand creative and visual consistency

  • Protect and develop the brand’s global visual identity across every channel, ensuring the guidelines, tone, and creative language remain consistent at every customer touchpoint.
  • Keep creative output aligned across digital, retail, social, eCommerce, packaging, PR, and campaign materials.
  • Partner with retailers and wholesale accounts to adapt artwork and assets to their technical requirements without compromising the brand.
  • Work closely with other teams so that all creative output supports the wider brand strategy and market positioning.

Creative design and execution

  • Concept and create assets for social media, email, websites, OOH, retail, events, and PR.
  • Prepare final production-ready artwork for print and manufacturing, and help shape packaging and new product development ideas.
  • Build 3D product visuals and mockups for launches, presentations, and promotional use.
  • Collaborate with developers and eCommerce specialists to improve website design and user experience.

Product development and cross-functional collaboration

  • Participate in the stage-gate process by contributing creative direction to new product ideas, including naming, packaging concepts, and launch preparation.
  • Make sure creative thinking is part of product development from the beginning rather than added at the end.
  • Work with the Head of Brand & Marketing, social media, and eCommerce teams to shape launch plans and creative rollouts.
  • Present concepts and campaign thinking internally through well-structured creative decks, and contribute to long-term brand strategy discussions.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means the SLICKHAIR brand appears with the same level of quality and consistency everywhere it is seen, whether that is on TikTok, in a Priceline aisle, or on a Target shelf in the US.

It also means campaigns perform commercially while remaining visually distinctive, packaging feels premium and cohesive from the earliest product development stages, and the brand continues moving forward rather than becoming static.

The Ideal Candidate

You bring 4 to 7 years of experience in graphic design, art direction, or a creative role within beauty, fashion, lifestyle, or consumer brands. Your portfolio should show work across brand identity, campaign creative, packaging, and digital execution that you have personally created, not only reviewed or approved.

You are comfortable discussing commercial realities and can balance ambitious creative thinking with the realities of shelf presence, in-feed performance, and in-store impact. You add strategic context to every launch and activation.

You are advanced in Adobe Creative Cloud and Figma, experienced in directing photoshoots from start to finish, and confident working with 3D renders, packaging production, and eCommerce platforms.

You stay organised, can manage several projects at once within a lean team, and maintain a high standard under pressure. You work well with marketing, NPD, and external partners, and you prefer collaborative problem-solving over working alone.
