About the Role
European Air Transport Leipzig GmbH, part of Europe’s largest DHL airline, is hiring a Crew Scheduler to support flight crew planning and daily operational control in an aviation environment at Schkeuditz, Saxony, Germany. The role sits within an organization that combines flight operations and maintenance under one roof, offering a dynamic setting for aviation professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage short-term planning for flight crew and oversee day-to-day crew control.
- Keep flight crew coverage lawful, efficient, and operationally effective.
- Monitor roster compliance at all times and react to changes quickly.
- Adjust schedules when operational disruptions or other ad-hoc changes occur.
- Track progress on line-training and other crew-related training obligations.
- Revise and reissue crew rosters when qualifications or other crewing limits require it.
- Maintain published rosters and ensure updates are communicated accurately.
- Coordinate crew contact when needed.
- Work with the CSD team and FOC Duty Manager on crewing events and immediate coverage solutions.
- Prepare daily shift handovers and internal reports.
- Coordinate with other departments and integrate additional crewing needs such as training, office duties, meetings, network capacity planning, and fleet projections.
- Carry out delegated administrative work, including KPI reporting.
- Take part in cross-functional projects.
Candidate Profile
The ideal applicant brings substantial professional experience, preferably in crew scheduling, aviation, flight operations, or the transport/travel sector. A strong understanding of relevant regulatory rules, solid computer literacy, and familiarity with crewing tools such as AIMS are important. The role also requires excellent English and German, the ability to work in a 24/7 shift pattern, and a calm, solution-focused approach under pressure.
Requirements
- Several years of relevant work experience, ideally in crew scheduling, aviation, flight operations, or a transport/travel-related field.
- Good knowledge of applicable regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong computer skills and experience with crewing software; AIMS is preferred, though other systems are acceptable.
- Very good command of both English and German.
- Willingness and ability to work in rotating 24/7 shifts.
- Ability to assess urgent issues quickly and make prompt decisions.
- High resilience and the ability to perform well under stress.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-changing environment.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
