Job description

Role overview

This position focuses on day-to-day security operations, compliance support, user assistance, and helping respond to incidents. The work is based in a regulated environment where attention to detail, documentation quality, and collaboration are essential.

Key responsibilities

  • Track security alerts, assess unusual activity, and route concerns to senior team members when escalation is needed.
  • Support phishing investigations, awareness initiatives, and secure-use guidance for employees.
  • Assist with incident triage, evidence gathering, recordkeeping, and follow-up activities under senior cybersecurity direction.
  • Help manage and support endpoint protection tools, multi-factor authentication, VPN connectivity, email security, and similar baseline controls.
  • Contribute to audit preparation and compliance efforts tied to CMMC, NIST SP 800-171, DFARS, ITAR, and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) handling.
  • Keep documentation current, assist on security-related projects, and work with cross-functional teams to strengthen the organization’s security posture.

Knowledge and experience

  • Working understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals, common threats, protective controls, and incident response basics.
  • Exposure to Microsoft 365, Windows-based environments, endpoint security, and enterprise IT support operations.
  • Strong analytical ability, troubleshooting skills, and careful attention to detail.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, accurate documentation habits, and the ability to work well with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
  • Interest in learning security operations, compliance requirements, and best practices in a defense- or aerospace-regulated environment.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information professionally, discreetly, and with sound judgment.

Basic qualifications

  • An associate degree or bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or a closely related area, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in cybersecurity, systems administration, network administration, IT support, or another related technical role.
  • Basic familiarity with security tooling, user access administration, endpoint protection, log review, or vulnerability remediation concepts.
  • Willingness to learn defense and aerospace cybersecurity obligations, including CMMC, NIST SP 800-171, DFARS, ITAR, and CUI handling practices.

Preferred qualifications

  • Prior exposure to compliance frameworks such as CMMC and NIST SP 800-171 is advantageous.
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial, aerospace, defense, or another regulated environment is preferred.
  • Helpful certifications include CompTIA Security+, ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC), and, for candidates with relevant experience, Microsoft Security Operations Analyst Associate (SC-200).

Location and compensation

The role is listed for Spring, TX, with compensation also referenced for Seattle, Houston, Phoenix, Los Angeles, or Springfield, MA.

Salary is stated at $72,000 to $88,000 annually.

A 10% performance bonus is available through the Management Incentive Plan.
