Job description
Company Overview
Bright Path Brands is a boutique brokerage serving the consumer packaged goods (CPG) space from Austin. The team helps better-for-you brands succeed in major retail channels through retail strategy, strong buyer relationships, trade planning, and category management, including work with retailers such as Whole Foods Market. It is a small, agile group with a strong commitment to the brands it represents.
Role Overview
This position is for a part-time analyst who enjoys working with CPG data and wants to grow alongside a scaling business. The work begins as a contract engagement at about 20 hours per week, with a possibility of moving into a full-time role if the fit and business needs align. The role offers ownership over how reporting is built and improved, along with direct influence on the performance of partner brands.
Key Work Areas
- Retrieve weekly sales data from the Whole Foods supplier portal and examine performance trends.
- Create dashboards and weekly reports that can be shared with clients.
- Identify changes, risks, and opportunities across the brand portfolio.
- Assist with forecasting, run-rate analysis, trade planning, and other operational reporting as priorities change.
- Help prepare materials for client reviews and Whole Foods category meetings.
- Take on ad hoc analysis and special projects as business needs evolve.
What They’re Looking For
- Strong interest in CPG, natural products, and emerging brands.
- Solid Excel capability and comfort handling retail sales datasets.
- Experience with syndicated data platforms such as Nielsen or IRI is advantageous.
- Ability to translate data findings into clear, understandable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
- Self-directed approach and comfort working in a fast-paced startup setting.
- A bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent professional experience is preferred.
Compensation and Working Arrangement
This is a paid contract role offering $40–$50 per hour, based on experience. The schedule is approximately 20 hours each week to begin. The role is remote, with preference for candidates based in Austin. There is also a path to full-time employment for the right person as the company grows.
