Data Science Intern

About the Role

This is a remote Data Science Intern position supporting a client engagement for a fast-moving, practical data science team. The internship is best suited to someone who enjoys solving business problems with data and can collaborate smoothly in a remote setup that follows UK working hours.

What You Will Do

• Support the creation of data-led solutions for real business challenges.
• Prepare, clean, and analyze both structured and unstructured datasets.
• Assist senior data scientists with building and assessing machine learning models.
• Carry out exploratory analysis and turn findings into useful insights.
• Work alongside engineering, product, and business teams to support shared goals.
• Help maintain data pipelines, dashboards, and reporting outputs.
• Write clear documentation for processes, methods, and outcomes.

Requirements

• Currently studying or recently graduated in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a similar field.
• Solid working knowledge of Python, including Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn.
• Basic understanding of machine learning methods such as regression, classification, and clustering.
• Hands-on exposure to visualization tools such as Matplotlib, Seaborn, or equivalent.
• Comfort using SQL and interacting with databases.
• Strong analytical ability and a practical approach to solving problems.
• Able to work remotely while overlapping with UK time zones.

Preferred Experience

• Exposure to deep learning tools like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Experience with cloud services such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Interest or experience in applied data science areas such as recommendation systems, NLP, or forecasting.
• Previous internship or project work in data science or analytics.
• Familiarity with Git or another version control workflow.
