Role Overview

MINDTEL is seeking a seasoned Database Administrator with deep hands-on experience across Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle platforms. The role focuses on keeping critical production and disaster recovery environments reliable, secure, and tuned for strong performance.

This position is based in Dubai and requires an on-site presence. The expected notice period is immediate to 30 days, and the compensation budget is 12,000 AED along with single benefits.

Qualification

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a closely related field is required.

Key Responsibilities

The selected professional will oversee administration and support for SQL Server and Oracle databases, with responsibility for business-critical systems across production and DR setups.

• Maintain, administer, and troubleshoot Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle database platforms.
• Keep production and disaster recovery databases available, stable, and performing well.
• Handle database deployment tasks such as installation, configuration, patching, version upgrades, and migration work.
• Design and operate backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
• Track database health, performance, storage capacity, and uptime metrics.
• Work with Oracle Data Guard, RMAN, ASM, and RAC environments.
• Carry out routine maintenance such as index rebuilds, statistics collection, database reorganization, and space management.
• Investigate and resolve performance bottlenecks, deadlocks, and other production incidents.
• Administer security settings, user access, profiles, and permissions.
• Support Windows Server 2016/2019 environments and Microsoft clustering technologies.
• Develop scripts, automation routines, and operational documentation for database support activities.
• Coordinate with application teams, infrastructure teams, and vendors to close complex technical issues.

Technical Requirements

• Strong administration experience in Microsoft SQL Server, including Standard and Enterprise editions.
• Practical expertise in Oracle Database administration.
• Working knowledge of Windows Server 2016 and 2019 administration.
• Experience with Microsoft Windows clustering technologies.
• Hands-on capability in physical and logical backup and recovery methods.
• Ability to tune database performance and manage capacity effectively.
• Experience with Oracle Data Guard.
• Familiarity with RMAN backup and recovery operations.
• Knowledge of Oracle ASM and RAC architectures.
• Understanding of Flashback technology.
• Skill in using ASH and AWR for performance analysis.
• Experience with database replication and log shipping.
• Ability to script in Red Hat Linux environments.
• Competence in database security and user management.

Additional Information

Experience: 8+ years of relevant experience is required.
