Role overview
This permanent delivery role is based at Orton Southgate Delivery Office in Peterborough, PE2 6BZ. You’ll be out in the community carrying out postal deliveries and representing Royal Mail at the doorstep. The position is 37 hours per week, spread over 5 days between Monday and Sunday, with shifts running from 07:15 to 20:45.
Because of operational needs, the rota includes around one in six Sundays and five in six Saturdays. The job is physically active, involves working outdoors in all weather, and is suited to someone who takes pride in serving local people and businesses.

What you’ll be doing
You will deliver mail and parcels safely and efficiently, working largely on your own and ensuring a reliable service to customers. The role also requires driving as part of the delivery round.
Working pattern and conditions

Candidate profile
Royal Mail is looking for someone who is upbeat, organised, dependable, and comfortable working independently. A friendly manner, strong customer focus, and pride in contributing to the local community are important. You should be prepared for extended walking, regular outdoor work, and a hands-on delivery environment.
Licence requirement
A full UK manual driving licence is required, and you must have no more than 6 penalty points.

- Guaranteed pay of £13.06 per hour, paid monthly and adjusted to your working hours
- Paid overtime at 1.25x for hours worked beyond 40 per week
